I met Melissa not too many years ago when I was working in the Executive MBA program at Kellogg. I was thrilled to meet up with her and her husband, Michael, and their eight month old son for a photo shoot on a blustery January afternoon. We met on campus and popped into the new visitor center for a minute to let Rowan show off his skills.
He is totally going to be walking soon, but for now he needs a little help from his dad.
And then we bundled up to go for a little walk outside…And Rowan made an adorable pouty face. But then he showed off his smile. Seriously, he is so cute, look at those little teeth!
I really loved his serious faces though. And how he smiled at people walking by…The wind was blowing around like crazy. But there were snuggles to keep warm. So much love.It was pretty chilly so we left Lake Michigan behind and headed to Temperance in south Evanston.
And Rowan played with his dad’s phone. And put it in his mouth, of course. And he reached for things he couldn’t have…And he bonded with the friendly bartender, Ben. And Ben let us try the new brew, Might meets Right. It was delicious. And they looked out the window and Rowan wanted to walk more, so Melissa took him for a stroll around the bar.And we saw the blow off bucket overflowing in the room where they make the beer. (This is part of the fermentation process. No, I didn’t know that, I just asked my husband to tell me what was happening because he knows things like that). And Michael took some pictures too.And there was smiling and happiness.
