January in Evanston means snow, cold, lots of overcast days, and only being outside long enough to go from house to heated car into another heated destination. Which is why, January in the Chicagoland area is absolutely perfect for indoor photo sessions in the quiet and comfort of your home! I first met Brooke and John and their sweet little girl on a brisk blue sky November day in 2017 (which I should really blog at some point too) and was pretty excited when they reached out to schedule a newborn session early this year in anticipation of the arrival of their baby boy. Their session was filled with so much love amidst a calm, quiet, comfortable vibe in their home and it was pure joy editing their session. And one more thing I wanted to share while you’re here, a deep musing of my sleepy mind – I look back and really regret not scheduling family newborn photo sessions when my girls were born. I’m happy I realized this regret and made a point to schedule one when our little man arrived at the end of last September. If you’re reading this and you’re expecting or you know someone is… remind them. Tiny babies grow fast, those wayward arms gain control and that look of absolute wonder as they see everything for the first time will give way to other kinds of wonderful things – but there’s NO DOUBT, you will want to remember how small they once were when their body would just collapse into yours and although you’re sore and “out of shape” (which is a silly thought, cause ya just had a baby – but I know it’s how I felt) and your eyes are tired….your heart is so full and you’ll want to remember because it’s true what they say… it goes so fast.
