It’s so cold outside that it’s hard to believe this day wasn’t really that long ago – winter in Chicagoland came way too early this year, but I’m trying to be okay with it and MAYBE even celebrate winter’s abrupt arrival – I mean, snow covered fall leaves isn’t something you get to see every year, right? Before the winter winds swopped in there was an absolutely perfect blue sky autumn day, perhaps the last beautiful day of the year, and I’m so happy I got to spend it with this incredible family. I remember when their little girl was just a tiny newborn and I was very pregnant with Thomas and waddled through their house capturing those first quiet, sweet moments and now here they are filled with an abundance of joyful energy that was so much fun to capture. If you click through the last couple blogs you’ll notice I’m kind of obsessed with this location – it’s the perfect blend of land and sea and then there’s the architectural interest of the whale wall – plop in a sweet family and all my photography dreams come true. I love their cuddly connections when we were up in the dunes and I love how their little girl was so brave and wanted to just run into the water once we got down there and I also love how Stephanie and Brad rolled with everything so naturally. When we made it to the whale wall, Stephanie asked to capture some with her daughter’s lovie, a plush panda – and I’m so happy she mentioned it because I mean – how cute?! I’m excited to share this session and so thankful for this crew for choosing me to capture their family again.
